Thanks, Raka. A beautiful, idyllic place you have in that picture, to be sure, and how do I get there? Almost didn't get here as my router suffered catastrophic failure last night and killed my cable modem in the process. Some $$$ later, of course, I have the replacement hardware in place and, voila, back online.

Happy Birthday, a day late _ I know, I was test driving some malt whiskies so thought I'd better not log on I might crash my fingers.

A boring B-Day, to be sure. Besides buying network components, I did drop $15 on the Orkneyinga Saga, which translates as the Saga of the Earls of Orkney. Couldn't pass up a title with the name Earl in it. The book is the only one that tells the start of the Viking age with the attack on a wee church in the UK. So, started reading that last nite, although the cold weather and the remnants of (elephant inserted by my insistent crazy daughter) my lingering sinus infection and cough made reading difficult. Anyway, speaking of daughter, we ordered a Brooklyn style pepperoni pizza and Oreo dessert pizza to celebrate while watching DVDs from her favorite TV series, Veronica Mars.
